MYEC was designed by the team of Heimsath Architects and Parshall + Associates Architects. This building involved the design and construction of a new 49,000 SF activity center located at the corner of Rosewood Avenue and Hargrave Street in East Austin. The facility includes a movie theater with seating for 120; a food court with a gaming area, and a soft play area; a 16-lane cosmic bowling center (midnight bowling) and a roller skating center to accommodate four types of roller skating (recreational skating, competitive inline speed skating, roller hockey, and artistic skating). Sustainable design features include: minimal termite treatment; fly ash concrete; low VOC paints, adhesives, and other interior materials; recycling of construction waste and waste reduction during construction.
