A new garage with ground floor den and loft space for studio office and balcony.  The Client envisioned a project that would demolish an existing detached garage and construct a new garage with ground floor den that transitioned onto an adjoining terraced deck. This would provide a contiguous deck that extends between the new den and the existing residence to provide an outdoor room for enjoying nature and social gatherings. The new 1,600 GSF garage/loft is designed to capture natural day lighting through expansive window placements and a vaulted ceiling, providing a transporting view into treetops.  The two story building volume has an integral covered balcony (seating gallery) oriented to the south that overlooks a landscaped garden, providing a peaceful space for reading, meditating and thinking.
